Galerie Voss will show new paintings by Harding Meyer from February 18th to March 26th, 2011. Besides the known large sized portraits taken from media sources, the exhibit titled "to be a real vision" will present a new category of works, which were created on the basis of previously manipulated images. Meyer takes the faces based on mass-media images. and manipulates them to such an extent that deformations, doublings or even different faces and viewing-perspectives are created. These manipulations go through a further step of intensification and mutation during the painting process and so to say extend the perception regarding questions of the (painterly) identity, which is the core theme in Harding Meyers' paintings.
A comprehensive catalogue will be published.
Opening hours: Tue-Fri: 10am-6pm / Sat: 11am-2pm
